Bladensburg, Maryland British Made Battle Map
The Battle of Bladensburg took place outside of Washington, D.C. in Maryland on 24 August 1814. The British Army completely routed the American forces. This allowed the British to march on Washington resulting in the town being burned. The British took heavier casualties during the battle, but due to the Americans fleeing the field the British were able to march virtually unopposed into the capital city.
This map was created by the British and has excellent water coloring of the different units and their locations. Units on the field are lettered with the legend in the bottom left corner.
